Rates
My rate will be agreed upon with you on a project-by-project basis, with reference to the subject area, volume, urgency and special requirements of your project. As general guidance, I tend to charge higher rates for specialist texts and lower rates for general ones.
Translation projects are chargeable per word (from USD 0.04 per source word, based on a project's specifics).
Proofreading and face-to-face interpretation jobs are chargeable per hour, with a minimum charge of 3 (three) hours.
Over-the-phone interpretation (OPI) / video remote interpretation (VRI) and subtitling jobs are chargeable per minute.
Charge for certified (notarised) translation is composed of translation, organisation and notarisation fees. The translation part is plain and clear—producing an accurate translation. The organisation part involves printing and sorting the documents, visiting a notary public's office to have the documents notarised, including travel and queuing time. The notarisation part is fully attributable to a notary public. He/she charges per document. This charge is extra, i.e. covered by the client, against a receipt.
A 20% surcharge will be applicable for rush, weekend and holiday work, and for non-editable file formats, e.g. scans or locked PDFs.
There is a minimum charge of USD 40 for minor jobs.
